Regarding my Rememberance Day post, one lovable reader writes:

Just what do you presume to know of their virtue, their bravery or their lives? "Lest We Forget" - what a joke! Imagine if you don't get to forget, not an option. That's what befalls those who lose a family member or those who have to grow up with one of the horribly wounded. You people feed on this business, it makes you proud somehow. What is wrong with you? I've taken the time to go through some of your other posts. What is with your perverse obsession with sexual and scatalogical references? Are you bent? Some are "assholes", others fellate. You're supposed to be an educated young pup but I'm compelled to ask whether you don't think you should seek help. I'm sorry but there's something seriously wrong with you. By the way, you should take care what you write. Apparently many prospective employers run searches to find what the internet can tell them about applicants. I doubt many would be impressed with your leavings.

There are a lot of reasons for a lefty or Liberal to have railed me this week, I'll admit. So far this week I've debunked Naomi Klein, decried the Saskatchewan NDP (and, to an extent, the Liberals) of using the politics of fear, and I've called Liberals hypocrites for the umpteenth time.
Yet, who in their heart of hearts would have believed the one post where someone gives me flak is the one where I was being apolitical and respectful? And on a politically neutral day meant for respect, nonetheless!

I find it funny that, just because I support the mission, I must be some horrible, sniveling asshole who politically profits off the deaths of others. As someone who actually has friends who are in the Canadian Forces, had relatives fight in both World Wars, and have met people who have served in Afghanistan, I would take serious offense to that, if the person attempting to shout it from the rooftops didn't seem to be such an utter, stark-raving lunatic. He shows that he has a clear political axe to grind, proven by the fact he just can't seem to put politics aside and be respectful for one day. The one day where all anyone asks of people is a little frickin respect. Apparently, for some, that is a tall order.

Also, it seems this person is the reincarnate of Sigmund Freud, because he is telling me I have an innate "perverse obsession with sexual and scatological references". Never mind the fact that I don't attach the term "asshole" with any body part; rather, it's a term of slang. Moreover, I only use the word "fellate" in the term "verbally fellate", which is meant to refer to blindly partisan people, and I can honestly say I don't remember even using within the past few months. I also find it absolutely hilarious that, in order to slag me further, he needs to scroll through all my posts and find whatever graspable straws he can find in order to indict me.

It just goes to show how pathetic some people are. Not only is this person entirely incapable of involving himself in any sort of decent political discourse, but he cannot even put partisan politics aside on a day that commands we transcend ideology. The fact he has not only failed to understand this, but also feels the need to make a rather puerile, sorry attempt to attack my character in the process, makes me wonder if he, in fact, is the one in desperate need of help.

EDIT: I actually remembered I have a tag that says "Assholes", which leads to 4 or 5 posts, one of which makes mention of "verbal fellation"- from last May. Almost six months ago. 600-something posts, and he can only find 4 or 5 to criticize, not my points, but my word use. Go figure.
